It's also a fun time to come together as a family. Here we are on Christmas Eve morning with our own kids.
Stockings! Here the kiddoes just took their stockings off the wall so they can dig in 'em to find their treasures. Always a favorite part of Christmas morning (or Christmas Eve morning...depending on when we celebrate).
Time to open gifts! Here dc are sitting with their cousins from dh's side of the family. Every year, they sit together in front of the tree for a picture before opening gifts. They all had such a fun time. It's great how they get along so well.
Here's a picture from Christmas morning with my side of the family. Dd/6 is sitting with dh & dd/4 is with her cousin, D. Cousin, S is by the tree. They look up to all their "big" cousins so much. My nieces and nephew are all so great with the kids. They're very loving and patient with them.
Here, dd/4 is snuggling with cousin, C. He's on break from his first year at West Point and the kids were VERY excited to see him. They were excited to see everyone but I think he was especially on their hearts because they've been praying for him so much. Just a fun tidbit: I was 15 when C was born and C was almost 15 when dd/4 was born.
As always, we miss my brother, B and his family. They live in MI so we haven't been ALL together for Christmas since before our kids were born but we did get to chat on the phone for a little while so that's always a treat. :^)
Now we're back home. Back to the daily grind (sort-of). The kids and I are still taking a break from school but dh's back at work today. Time always goes so fast. The kids were sad to say goodbye to all their cousins & grandparents. It's always hard to say goodbye when you're having so much fun but we can always look forward to next time!
